Welcome to the Caversham Patient Participation Group.

The Group’s aim is: To foster effective communication between the practice and the registered patients, and to promote patient engagement in the development of the practice.

We meet to discuss and plan ways to improve the service the practice provides. Meetings are at the Caversham, about once every three months. The practice provides facilities and support but we are an independent Group.

To keep up to date with the group’s activities we will post updates on this part of the website and if you prefer, eg if it’s difficult to get to meetings, email us instead. If you give the PPG Chairs your consent to email you about the group’s activities please email [email protected] and we’ll email you about our activities. By passing on your email address to [email protected] you are giving consent to the PPG Chairs to email you directly about the Patient Participation Groups activities. The practice has ensured that your email address will be kept confidential and that only the practice and patient participation group chairs will have access to your email addresses. No advertising or commercial material will be included in emails from the Group to members.

All Caversham registered patients are welcome to join the Group and contibute to its work. Younger people and ethnic minorities are particularly welcome. If you have ideas about how the practice can improve its services, do let us have your views.

We seek to reach out to ethnic minorities, those with mental conditions and other seldom-heard groups. Ways of doing this include visits to Community Centres to talk to groups and hear their views. We also seek to reach out to homebound or isolated patients, eg via email or via their carers. If you would like to help with this or with any other part of the Group’s work, do let us know.
