Contraceptive Implant Fitting
If you would like to have a Contraceptive Implant fitted or removed please contact reception, you will be booked into a double appointment with Dr Blackmore.

Intrauterine Contraception Fitting (Coils)
If you are interested in Intrauterine Contraception (Copper Intrauterine Device (IUD)/Coil or Intrauterine System (IUS) Mirena) and would like to discuss this with someone before deciding then book a GP or nurse appointment.
If you are ready to arrange a fitting please then book a face to face (or telephone) consultation with Nichalla Mason (Health Care Assistant) she will discuss the process with you and book you in to a clinic where Dr Blackmore or Dr McNabb will do the procedure.

Before fitting IUC it is important to be sure you are not pregnant. Please click here for more information about this.
On the day of your appointment we recommend that you eat and take your own pain relief at home prior to your appointment. Please bring some sanitary protection as you may experience some bleeding after the fitting.
Intrauterine Contraception Removal
Removal of IUD or IUS can be done in a 10 minute consultation with a GP.
It is important, in order to avoid risk of pregnancy after removal of your device that you abstain from intercourse for 7 days prior to your appointment.
