Healthcare Team

Health Visitors

Telephone: 020 3317 5425/5426 The health visitors are nurses who are specially trained in child, family and public health. All families with children under 5 can contact the health visitors for advice and support either in the surgery or by telephone. They are able to visit families at home by appointment. They work on weekdays from 9am- 5pm but the best times to telephone are between 9 -10am and 4 – 5pm. Please ask the health visitors about the baby massage and breastfeeding sessions they run.

Children & Families Advice Team

The team currently consists of a social worker, family support workers and health visitors. This is a new service to offer one-to-one advice, support and help for parents and/or children experiencing difficulties or worries. The team runs a clinic on Thursday mornings between 10 and 11.30am. Appointments can be made at reception or by contacting the team directly.

District Nurses

The district nurses provide nursing care for people who are housebound. They can also give advice and help if you are looking after a friend or relative including loaning nursing equipment if necessary. They usually visit between 8.30 am and 4pm. A reduced service is available at evenings and weekends.

Community Midwives

Along with the doctors and health visitors, the community midwives offer a full antenatal service including antenatal classes, shared care with the hospital, midwife-led deliveries in the hospital and at home. Midwife appointments are available on a Friday morning for women booked for pregnancy care and delivery at UCLH.

Smoking Cessation Advisor

Donna Harris is our smoking cessation advisor. Smoking cessation appointments can be booked via the receptionist. No referral from your GP is required. These appointments usually take place on a Wednesday afternoon. Alternatively, there are a range of smoking cessation clinics available in the community. Please ask our receptionists for further information.
