Contraceptive Implant Fitting
If you would like to have a contraceptive implant fitted or removed please book a double appointment with Dr Blackmore (and ask reception to make a note on the booking that it is for an implant).

Intrauterine Contraception (“coil”) Fitting

If you would like to go ahead and book for a coil fitting please read the following, if any of these apply please book an appointment with Dr Frances Blackmore.
- I have fibroids or other Gynaecological conditions
- I have had a failed or difficult coil insertion in the past
- I may be pregnant
If none of these apply please contact reception to book a coil fitting appointment they will firstly send you a short questionnaire by text confirming the above information and then will be able to look for a coil clinic appointment for you.
We offer everyone who has a coil fitting sexual health screening, you can collect a self swab pack from reception, book online for home use via SHL or we can take take a swab during the fitting consult.
Intrauterine Contraception Removal
Removal of a coil can be done in a normal 10 minute consultation with a GP or nurse. It is important, in order to avoid risk of pregnancy after removal of your device, that you abstain from intercourse for 7 days prior to your appointment.
