News:

Thank you for tolerating the disruption caused by our recent building work. The work to install a new lift, renovated patient toilets and four new upstairs consulting rooms is nearly complete.

Dr Iona Heath retired from the practice in January of this year. We will all miss her hugely and wish her well in her new role as President of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

We are continuing our attempts at improving access to our appointments.

In order to improve your access to a GP, we will now be offerring routine appointments from 7.30am on some mornings and from 9am to 12am on some Saturday mornings.

Help us to keep your clinical record up to date. Please click on the "clinical record" link at the bottom of this page to update us.

Our new "self check area" is now open. Appointments are no longer needed for routine BP checks. We now have a dedicated area in the waiting room eqipped with state of the art electronic equipment with which to measure your own BP.  Receptionists will be on hand to assist you.  Height and weight can also be checked.

The Minor AilmenScheme can enable you to get prompt treatment for a range of minor health problems. For further details see the link under Practice Information.

GP Appointments

calendarYou can make an appointment in person at reception or by telephoning the surgery.  Appointments are for 10 minutes and run from 08.40 - 11.30 and 14.00 - 18.40.  We also offer routine appointments on Saturday Mornings  and on some weekday morning  from 7.30am.

We encourage patients to try to see their usual doctor each time and particularly to see the same doctor for the same problem.  However, you can choose to see another doctor if you wish.

We have recently introduced a new Rapid Access Surgery which offers a large number of appointments which can be booked in the usual way 24 - 48 hours in advance.  These appointments are suitable for any problem which needs attention sooner than the next available routine appointment.  Rapid access appointments are pre booked by telephone or in person.  You will be given an appointment time but we cannot guarantee that you will see a specific doctor.  For very urgent problems we offer the opportunity to discuss the problem witha doctor by telephone on the same day in order to decide what further action may be required.

When attending for your scheduled appointment please try out our electronic check in.  This will log details of your arrival and automatically inform the GP/Practice nurse of the fact that you are now waiting to be seen
