News:

Thank you for tolerating the disruption caused by our recent building work. The work to install a new lift, renovated patient toilets and four new upstairs consulting rooms is nearly complete.

Dr Iona Heath retired from the practice in January of this year. We will all miss her hugely and wish her well in her new role as President of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

We are continuing our attempts at improving access to our appointments.

In order to improve your access to a GP, we will now be offerring routine appointments from 7.30am on some mornings and from 9am to 12am on some Saturday mornings.

Help us to keep your clinical record up to date. Please click on the "clinical record" link at the bottom of this page to update us.

Our new "self check area" is now open. Appointments are no longer needed for routine BP checks. We now have a dedicated area in the waiting room eqipped with state of the art electronic equipment with which to measure your own BP.  Receptionists will be on hand to assist you.  Height and weight can also be checked.

The Minor AilmenScheme can enable you to get prompt treatment for a range of minor health problems. For further details see the link under Practice Information.

Rapid Access Surgery

We’ve listened:

We know it can be difficult to get a quick appointment
We know it’s sometimes difficult to get through on the phone
We know you don’t like queuing or waiting for the emergency surgery

So instead of the emergency surgery, there will be our new
RAPID ACCESS SURGERY
For a simple or urgent problem that you would like sorted out quickly, you will be given an appointment within 2 working days.  (It is not possible to choose which doctor you would like to see for these appointments)

Routine Appointments
As before, you can still book to see the doctor of your choice several weeks ahead

More Telephone Appointments
You will have more opportunities to talk with a doctor on the phone.  Many problems can be sorted out over the phone so you don’t have to come to the practice

Practice Nurse Appointments for Minor Ailments
You can now see one of our nurses for minor problems

A Doctor Always Around for Emergencies
If you have a really urgent problem, call us as early as possible and a doctor will call you back.  If the problem cannot be solved over the phone, they can arrange to see you as soon as needed

Please do not come to be seen at the surgery unless you have been given an appointment

When is the Rapid Access Surgery going to happen?
Every weekday from 11am

How do I book a Rapid Access Surgery appointment?

What problems are not good for the Rapid Access Surgery?
If you have a few problems together, or a more complicated problem that you know will need a little more time
A problem for which you would like to choose which doctor you see
